My favourite picture. It's a classic New York scene from the movies, except in real life. A man tries to hail a cab in the upper west side as the rain pours down and posh black cars shoot past him. Steam rises from manhole covers on the tarmac from some unknown source. This was one of the oddest things in New York; in my experience steam does not come out of roads. In fact, it was commonplace on the streets of Manhattan. I'm sure a quick google-search will tell us why it happens... |
