Without doubt the centre-piece of Statue Park, this immense statue of a running soldier epitomises the Soviet style of imagery. An English-speaking guide told us that some residents of Budapest used to joke that the man was in fact some kind of pool attendant, running with his beach towel to find the best spot in the sunshine.
