That's what I'm talking about. This fantastic view of Budapest can be found at the summit of the Gellért-Hegy looking out from a bar. The bar sells a fine form of Hungarian dark beer at 500 Florints a pint. That's about £1.30; we decided it would be rude to have any less than 2 pints each. From here the Vár is visible on the left, the main bridge is the Chain Bridge while Margaret Island is visible in the distance. We estimated that the Danube was about twice as wide as the Thames in central London. |
